Evaluation of 3-methyl-4-nitrophenol a pesticide by-product removal from water using nanofiltration combined by Trichoderma harzianum microbial fuel cell for irrigation purposes
Jean‑Philippe Théodore Silga, Yibor Fabrice Roland Bako, Nesrine Kalboussi, Maxime Pontié, Serge Mbokou Foukmeniok, Mehri Shabani, Issa Tapsoba
Fenitrothion is an organophosphorus insecticide widely used in Sahelian countries. However, fenitrothion undergoes rapid degradation, generating many by-products, the main one being 3-methyl-4-nitrophenol (MNP) known to be hazardous for humans and the environment. The intensive use of fenitrothion has led to environmental contamination, raisin(...)

Electrochemical Behavior of Copper on Unmodified GlassyCarbon in Chloride-Containing Nitric Acid Media
Hamidou Kaboré, Tambi Ramdé, Fousseni Soma, Lucien Bonou
This study has been conducted on the electrochemical behavior of copper in chloride-containing nitric acid media by cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, and chronopotentiometry. The results showed that the diffusion process controls the copper reduction process on the glassy carbon. A typical current transient of progressive nucleation and t(...)

Functionalization of Arabic Gum by Both Oxidation and Acylation: Application as Sensing Materials for the Electrochemical Determination of Phenolic Compounds
Ousmane Ilboudo, Serge Mbokou Foukmeniok, Yssouf Karanga, Yibor Fabrice Roland Bako, Issa Tapsoba, Ignas Tonlé Kenfack
Novel functionalized Arabic gums (AGs) were obtained by oxidation and acylation reactions on raw Arabic gum. The synthesized materials were used as modifiers of carbon paste electrodes for the determination of quercetin (QCT), rutin (RUT) and both p-aminophenol (PAP) and acetaminophen (APAP) in 0.1 M phosphate buffer solution (PBS), pH 6.0. T(...)

Quantum chemical studies on inhibiting copper corrosion in nitric acid using some coumarin derivatives
M. Cissé, Y. Bakouan, V. Kouakou, M.A. Tigori and P.M. Niamien
Efforts have been made to limit copper corrosion. Among the many strategies available to protect copper against corrosion, the use of inhibitors is one of the most practical and effective methods. In recent years, quantum chemical calculations have been used to search for new inhibitors. The aim of this work is to study the inhibiting properti(...)

Pan‑C2(n+1): A Theoretical Prediction for 2D Carbon Allotropes
Xin-Qi Liu, Ang Ma, Ya-Nan Zhang, Zhi-Jun Yi, Roberts I. Eglitis, Issa Tapsoba, Ran Jia
In this work, the two-dimensional (2D) periodic armchair nanoribbon (pan-C2(n+1)) systems have been proposed and investigated by using the density functional theory (DFT). The pan-C2(n+1) systems can be easily obtained by in-plane rotating the carbon pairs C2 at certain positions in the monolayer graphene (G). The graphene nanoribbon patterns(...)

Physicochemical and Mineralogical Characterizations of Two Natural Laterites from Burkina Faso: Assessing Their Potential Usage as Adsorbent Materials
Corneille Bakouan, Louise Chenoy, Boubié Guel, and Anne-Lise Hantson
In the framework of lateritic material valorization, we demonstrated how the geological environment determines the mineralogical characterizations of two laterite samples,
KN and LA. KN and LA originate from the Birimian and Precambrian environments, respectively. We showed that the geological criterion alone does not determine the applicabil(...)
